This interesting piece is not your typical mid-century modern fare. Constructed of walnut, this sideboard / bar cabinet was manufactured by E Gomme Ltd of Great Britain.
The front, with its slight concave scalloped profile, has four doors, each adorned with an elaborate wood and brass pull in its center. The left door opens out to reveal drawers. Pull the next handle and you discover that this door drops down to reveal a lighted bar area with a mirrored back. The next two doors are bi-fold, behind which is shelving. It sits on squared legs.
This piece is low and slim and is the perfect piece to mix in an eclectic room where you want a touch of modern, or a thoroughly modern room where you want just a hint of something beyond minimalism. It is a wonderful statement piece whether you serve drinks and food from it, or use it for your TV and media paraphernalia.
