When Britain’s G Plan, (E. Gomme), hired V. B. Wilkins and he envisioned the Fresco line, they could not have foreseen that he would create what was to become one of the most iconic designs of the 1960’s, something that would become a style icon and be sought after for many decades to come.

G-Plan Fresco was a hugely successful design for Gomme. Introduced in 1966, it became G-Plan’s most successful range ever. When Victor Wilkins designed Fresco he incorporated the pop art motif of circles, ovals and curves seen on ceramics, art and other items from the period and combined that with the newly fashionable sculptured look for furniture with influences from Scandinavia and Italy.

While he created many pieces for this line, from dining to dressers, this Highboard cabinet is With-Out-A-Doubt the Rarest! Good luck finding another one -with well over 25 years of combined experience in Vintage Mid-Century Modern Furniture we have never seen this beauty before!

With it’s distinctive Afrormosia Hardwood Recessed Door Handles and sculpted legs this is a stunning and exceedingly rare example of Wilkins design. It features rich grained teak construction from the hand of G Plan’s master craftsman and offers more than ample storage space. Three cane inset doors that open to adjustable shelving rise above a classic Fresco sideboard -this affords ample surface area above even more cabinet space with adjustable shelving and three large drawers -the top one partitioned for silverware and the like.
