Fluted-Front Tall Walnut Dresser by Cavalier

This super interesting tall dresser or gentleman’s chest was produced in the ’50s by the American manufacturer Cavalier, a “boutique” manufacturer known for high quality craftsmanship. This piece is distinguished by several remarkable features, most notably the vertically fluted front of the two doors on the upper portion. The corrugation catches the light and casts interesting shadows across the doors. The bottom, defined by a ledge around the middle is composed of two deep drawers.
The bottommost drawer is lined in cedar making it perfect for worry-free storage of woolens. Sculptural handles form elongated diamonds on the doors and drawers, giving real personality and depth to the piece. A concave diamond stretcher echoes the shapes on the front of the dresser and small sculpted legs complete this refined yet lively design. A real winner for it capacity as well as it conception.
