Designed in 1954 by Hans Wegner, the AP-27 Chair, popularly known as the “Mama Bear” Easy Lounge Chair, is a scarce and highly valued example of mid century design by one of the masters of Danish craftsmanship….to have a pair is heaven..
The high-backed upholstered loungers have matching, richly patinated teak paw arms and legs. Set comes with a weighted neck cushions, which are not typically present with Mama Bear Chairs in original condition.
Upholstery is super-clean and in excellent vintage condition; please note that the lounge chairs are in original stitched patterned blue-teal wool color-way.
Chairs are appropriately stamped underneath each seat base, identifying these chairs as Hans Wegner original designs for A. P. Stolen, Copenhagen.
This incredible pair provides a beautiful, functional sitting experience that is both elevated and refined. A must-have for the serious collector — especially as a matched pair in super-clean original upholstery!
