This pair of accent tables combines elegance and wit, making them a joy to behold. First, elegance: the tops are thick and heavy in an oval of lovely proportions; the marble is nicely mottled and veined with gray. Second, wit: the oval slabs sit on outsized chunky tapered legs that seem ready to start walking. Though dating to the late ’50s or early ’60s, these have a definite “Post-Modern” vibe that Philip Johnson would have appreciated.
