Rare Pierre Chapo Solid Elm & Leather Living Room Set w/ Catalog & Provenance
We are extremely pleased to offer this fabulous suite of furniture designed in the 1970s by French designer Pierre Chapo (1927-1987). Consisting of a three-seat sofa, two matching lounge chairs, a very hard to come by ottoman, and the famous T-22 L’Oeil coffee table.
The table and the frames of the sofa and chairs are in solid elm, and the cushions on the seating is covered in a cognac leather. These feature beautiful details such as the leather straps supporting the armrests. They can easily be placed in the middle of a room thanks to the elegance of the back. Superbly comfortable and stylish!
Purchased in 1986 from the Moenne-Loccoz Showroom in La Roche-Sur-Foron, France (complete with multiple catalogs & the original receipt). It’s possible that the furniture in this set was some of the last pieces produced by Chapo. The set was purchased & manufactured in what was to be, very sadly, the last year of Pierre Chapo’s talented life.
