Norwegian credenza with unusual design details that all together make a most intriguing piece!
Manufactured by Master Cabinetmaker Olav Haug at Elverum Mobel & Trevarefabrikk, Under Exclusive License from Prominent Norwegian Furniture Designer Sigurd Resell
Purchased by an American Serviceman while overseas. He was the pilot of a United States Cargo Plane, that was used in part to fly to the US this sideboard, as well a dining table & chairs also by Sigurd Resell
Of teak, the front is divided into four doors, each having aluminum hardware to serve as the pull; there is one on each end and two that meet in the middle
Behind the left hand door is a column of shallow drawers
The two middle doors open to a large, open shelved storage space
The door on the right also reveals a shelved storage area
A linear stretcher bar underscores the piece and the tall chrome caps on the legs create great interplay amongst the hardware
The lack of adornment and the minimalist hardware, especially its placement, gives this sideboard a very calm and serene appearance and really allows the beautiful wood to be highlighted
Another wonderful piece that could serve many purposes in the home or office!
