Early La Fonda Slate Top Table w/ Chrome Base – Eames for Herman Miller
SOLD
Featured at DC.
Here is an early example of the “La Fonda” table, designed by Charles Eames for Herman Miller. It has a black slate top on a chrome pedestal base. The base is comprised of four separate chrome pieces, giving an airiness to the piece. The use of slate and chrome together is a wonderful marriage of natural and industrial materials.
Due to its size, the table could be used as an end table, occasional table or as a coffee table in a smaller space.
The La Fonda table was designed circa 1961 for the La Fonda del Sol Cafe, that was located in Rockefeller Center, New York City.
