This gorgeous MCM pivot-back accent chair is Danish teak and was imported by John Stuart, New York, circa 1960’s. The back and seat are upholstered in its original mushroom beige Naugahyde. Viewed from the side, the chair appears to have a straight back however once you sit down you discover that it adjusts to your comfort. It is also from the side that you see the beautiful lines of the legs, which thrust forward and backward from the squared frame of the arms. The seat slopes back, also visible through the side of the frame.
The tension of the lines of the frame give the chair a dynamic vitality that make it seem to be bursting from the floor. The arm rests are topped by teak which provides extra comfort for the sitter. This continues around the back to hug the chair and also provide another beautiful design detail: the chrome double ball joints that allow the backrest to pivot. A wonderful accent in a living room or office, this solidly crafted chair will complete your mid-century room
